Live staff map questions
How does the live staff map get each engineer's location?
Each team member's Gaffer mobile app shares their GPS position while they are clocked on. Their pin updates on your map as they move, so you always see the current location of everyone on shift.
Does the staff map work on the mobile app and offline?
Yes. Engineers run the offline-first Gaffer app on Android (iOS coming soon). If signal drops, the app stores location and job updates locally and syncs them — including the route travelled — as soon as a connection returns.
Can I control who is tracked and when?
Yes. Location sharing is tied to being clocked on for work, you choose which roles appear on the map, and tracking stops when staff clock off so personal time stays private.
