How is this different from the qualifications register?
Qualifications are the tickets that authorise someone to do regulated work — Gas Safe, NICEIC, ECS, CSCS. Training records cover the wider set: manual handling, asbestos awareness, first aid, working at height, IPAF, PASMA. Both expire, and both surface in the same alerts.
Can I see who is missing mandatory training?
Yes. Because mandatory is a flag on the course record rather than a convention, you can see who has not completed a required course rather than inferring it from who has.
Does this help with contractor onboarding?
Considerably. Principal contractors typically ask for training matrices and certificate numbers before you get on site, and having them held per person with certificate references makes that a lookup rather than a scramble.
What happens when training expires?
It surfaces through Gaffer's expiry alerts ahead of the date, in the same stream as certificate and qualification renewals, so it can be rebooked before it lapses rather than after.
