Automations & AI

See exactly what your automations did

Automation you cannot inspect is automation you will eventually turn off. Gaffer shows every action its automations have taken — the reminder that went, the follow-up that fired, the rebooking it raised — so you can trust the ones that work and fix the ones that do not.

How the automation activity log works in Gaffer

A record of each automated action, so the system is auditable rather than mysterious.

Every action visible

Reminders, follow-ups, rebooking prompts and sequence steps are logged as they fire, against the record they affected.

Debug without guessing

When a customer says they never got the reminder, the log says whether it was sent — which is a much shorter conversation than checking a mailbox.

Confidence to switch more on

Being able to see what automation has done is what makes people comfortable enabling more of it.

What you get

The activity log sits with your automation sequences, follow-ups and reminders in one platform.

  • Each automated action recorded with its timestamp
  • The record the action was taken against
  • Which automation or sequence triggered it
  • Covers reminders, follow-up sequences and rebooking prompts
  • Viewable in the web app and on mobile
  • Business-scoped to your own automations
  • Works with per-business automation toggles

Common questions about automation activity log

Why do I need a log of automations?

Because the first time an automated message goes to the wrong person, or does not go at all, you need to know which is which. Automation without visibility gets switched off after the first incident.

Can I turn individual automations off?

Yes. Automations are toggled per business, so you can run the ones that suit how you work and leave the rest off, rather than accepting the whole set.

Does it show automations that failed?

The log records the actions taken, which is what tells you whether something fired. Combined with Gaffer's webhook delivery tracking and message records, it gives you the delivery picture as well as the trigger picture.

Is this the same as the audit log?

No. The audit log records what people changed; this records what the system did on its own. They answer different questions and are kept separate deliberately.
