30 UK accreditation schemes, with what each one actually requires

Getting CHAS, Constructionline, NICEIC or ISO 9001 is mostly a matter of knowing what evidence they want. Gaffer holds 30 UK schemes with their real requirements, the evidence needed for each, typical cost and renewal period — and tracks your application through a checklist to submission.

How accreditation guidance works in Gaffer

A catalogue of real schemes, and a tracked application for the ones you are going for.

Real requirements, itemised

Each scheme lists its actual requirements with the evidence needed for each one — not a link to the scheme's homepage. Gas Safe alone carries six requirements and four ongoing obligations.

Cost and renewal up front

Typical cost in pounds and renewal period in months are held per scheme, so you can decide whether a scheme is worth it before starting.

Tracked to submission

Applications carry a checklist you work through, with evidence attached per requirement and documents generated from your own business data.

What you get

Accreditation guidance sits with your scheme memberships, qualifications and compliance records in one platform.

  • Catalogue of 30 UK schemes across safety, quality, competence and trade bodies
  • Requirements listed per scheme with the evidence each one needs
  • Ongoing obligations recorded, not just the application requirements
  • Typical cost and renewal period per scheme
  • Recommendations based on your trades
  • Application checklist with evidence uploaded per requirement
  • Generate supporting statements and documents from your own data

Common questions about accreditation guidance

Which schemes are covered?

Thirty, including Gas Safe Register, NICEIC, NAPIT, OFTEC, F-Gas, MCS, TrustMark, FENSA, CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline Gold, CSCS, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, PAS 2030, Which? Trusted Trader, SSIP, RoSPA Gold and the main trade bodies — APHC, ECA, NFRC, NADC, BPCA, PCA, NHBC, BESA and others.

Does Gaffer apply on my behalf?

No. It tells you what each scheme requires, tracks your evidence against those requirements and generates supporting documents from your business data. The application itself goes to the scheme, and the link to do that is on the record.

How does it know which schemes I need?

Schemes carry the trade types they apply to, so Gaffer recommends the ones relevant to your business rather than presenting all thirty equally. A gas engineer and a roofer get different lists.

What about keeping accreditation once I have it?

Each scheme records its ongoing obligations — annual renewals, record-issuing duties, notification requirements, inspection cooperation — because losing an accreditation for a missed obligation is more common than failing to get one.
